Helena Abrantes
for Mayor

Helena Abrantes
was born in Ilhavo, Portugal on
July 7, 1962. She came with her
family to the United States in
1967 turning 5 years old
approximately a month later.
She has been married for 23
years to David Abrantes, the
founder of Danbury Community
Radio, Inc. a Portuguese radio
station. She has two sons,
Daniel who is 21, a junior at
Fordham University majoring in
Physics and Matthew who is 18, a
freshman at University of New
Haven on a full Army ROTC
scholarship majoring in Criminal
Justice. She became a citizen
of the United States at 14 years
old and adds, "One of the
proudest moments of my life."
She is presently part owner of a
family owned business – Atlantic
Restaurant in Danbury (a
Portuguese restaurant) as well
as a paralegal at the law firm
of Pinney Payne, P.C. working
for primarily Richard Arconti,
Esq. and Martin A. Rader, Jr.,
Esq.
Helena is
running for Mayor of Danbury
with an election date of
November 6, She has had
extensive involvement in the
city government. She was on the
Common Council for a little over
three terms, elected Legislative
Leader for two terms on the
Council, elected to the position
of City Clerk and has been
serving on the Democratic Town
Committee for two terms, 4
years.
Helena
says, "During my time on the
Common Council I took part on
several committees such as the
Diversity Task Force for the
Fire and Police Dept. and the
Community Development Block
Grant Committee. My involvement
in the Portuguese community has
been quite extensive, from
running voter registration
drives, to having worked with
immigration in Danbury to renew
individuals green cards when it
became mandatory to replace the
old green ones. I have helped
many to become citizens of the

Eileen Coladarci
for City Clerk

Eileen has been on
the DDTC since 2004. Before
that she spent 9 years as a
Common Council Representative
for the third ward and as the
ward 2 council woman in 2003.
She has provided her research skills
to various industries including
forecasting the trends in access
control, CCTV, intelligent video
and home automation. The
results were published in a
marketing report targeted for
manufacturers by
J.P. Freeman Company in
Newtown.
Her public relations skills
are demonstrated through her
work with the artists and
graphic designers who have
graduated from the Western
Connecticut State University art
program. Eileen provides a
network of opportunities for jobs,
art shows and interaction
between artists through the

She has also highlighted the
graduates of the theatre department
(www.wcsu.edu/theatrealumni). WestConn
now has a School of Performing
and Visual Arts. With the
new building being added for
theatre, music and art, Eileen
was promoting the achievements
of the artists and was acting as
the Special Events Administrator
in the Office of Institutional
Advancement.
Eileen also works for Danbury
Hospital Public Relations. She
hosts the Medical Town
Meetings to ensure that the
attendees are provided the
materials needed for a
successful event and provides
educational materials at various
health fairs throughout the
region.
Eileen is married to Emil,
another Danbury native, and is
mom to Chris and Richie and new
daughter-in-law, Jenna.
She is a member of St. Gregory
the Great Church and treasurer
for Richter Association for the
Arts.

Lori Kaback,
Town Clerk
Lori
was elected to the position
of Town Clerk in 2005 and continues
to provide the City with
outstanding service in the Town
Clerk's office. She has been
employed in the Office of the
Town Clerk for over 15 years
serving the previous 8 years as
Assistant Town Clerk.
She was born and raised in
Danbury and graduated from
Danbury High School and Gibbs
College majoring in the Office
Administration Program. Her
father, Norman Kaback was an
educator/administrator in the
Danbury school system for 42
years and her mother, Carole
Kaback is still a school nurse
in Danbury. She a member of St.
George Antiochian Orthodox
Church.

Brian Cotter for
Treasurer
Brian Cotter
says, "The treasurer can put an
end to reckless spending."
He promises fiscal integrity.
Brian is a past member of the
Board of Education and the DDTC.
As an
attorney, he was a state
prosecutor and was president of
the bar association. He is
a graduate of Georgetown
University and the Boston
University School of Law.
