 A regular meeting of the Democratic Town Committee for the purpose of nominating candidates for the 109th, 110th, registrar and Justices of the Peace was held at City Hall on May 20, 2008.  The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M.

Present:  DaSilva L, Merante, Anders, Gallo, Cooke, Galloway, Rapp, Earle, Schlemmer R, Saadi, DaSilva J, Lewis, Mackenzie, Schlemmer W, Lees. 

Absent:  Morgan, McNamara, Abrantes, Coladarci, Kelly, Tomaino, Conciatore, Eriquez, Braguez, Council, Armstrong, White and Halfar.  

Bernie Gallo made a motion to accept the call of the meeting.  Alice Earle seconded.  The motion passed unanimously. 

Chairman Joe DaSilva asked for nominations for the position of representative of the 109th Assembly District.  Tom Saadi nominated Joe Taborsak and Linda Galloway seconded.  Tom Saadi moved and Rose Schlemmer seconded to close the nominations.  It passed unanimously.  After a vote of 5-0 Joe gave his acceptance speech. 

Joe DaSilva turned over the chairmanship to Eleanor Lewis.  Eleanor asked for nominations for the position of representative of the 110th Assembly District.  Joe DaSilva nominated Bob Godfrey and Rose Schlemmer seconded.  Joe DaSilva moved and Bernie Gallo seconded that nominations be closed.  It passed unanimously.  After a vote of 4-0 Bob gave his acceptance speech. 

Eleanor Lewis then asked for nominations for Registrar of Voters.  Joe DaSilva nominated Marge Gallo and Wayne Schlemmer seconded.  Eleanor Lewis moved and Linda DaSilva seconded to close nominations.  It passed unanimously.  After a vote of 15-0 Marge gave her acceptance speech.

Joe DaSilva handed out the list of candidates for Justice of the Peace.  Tom Saadi asked if any sitting justices had been left off the list without their approval.  Joe said no one was left off without his permission.  Bruce Lees moved and Zach Rapp seconded to accept the list of candidates.  The list was carried unanimously.

Bruce Lees moved to adjourn and Bernie Gallo seconded.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:15.
