 A meeting of the Democratic Town Committee was held on July 19,2007 at City Hall, 155 Deer Hill Ave. for the purpose of nominating candidates for all Municipal offices for the November 2007 elections.  The meeting was called to order at 7:47 P. M. 

Eleanor Lewis made a motion to accept the call of the meeting.  Tony Tomaino seconded. 

Present:  DaSilva L, Merante, Morgan, Anders, Seri, Abrantes, Coladarci, Cooke, Neptune, Kelly, Estefan, P, Estefan, S, Saadi, Tomaino, Conciatore, DaSilva.J. Lewis, Braguez, Kabeck. Armstrong, Knight, Halfar.

Absent:  McNamara, Kendall, and Lees.

Tony Tomaino nominated three candidates for Constable, Michael Esposito, Paul Estefan and Francis Kieras.  Eleanor Lewis seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Richard Kaback nominated one candidate for Zoning Commission Alternate, Jacqueline Perez-Ares.  Eleanor Lewis seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Barbara Anders nominated six candidates for the Zoning Commission, Kevin Chamberlin, Anthony DiCaprio, James Gay, Theodore Haddad Jr., Richard Jowdy, and Bruce R. Lees.  Eleanor Lewis seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously.

Linda DaSilva nominated three candidates for the Board of Education, Rachael Austin, Gladys Cooper and Susan Podhajski.  Tony Tomaino seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously.

Nominations of two candidates form each of the seven Wards for the Common Council: 

Tina Merante nominated First Ward candidates Jack Gillotte and Larry Jansons.  Linda DaSilva seconded.  The nominations passed unanimously. 

Helena Abrantes nominated Second Ward candidates Kenneth Gucker and Paul McAllister.  Eileen Coladarci seconded.  The nominations passed unanimously. 

Ellen Cooke nominated Third Ward candidates, James Kelly and Lynn Taborsak.  Sherri Neptune seconded.  The nominations passed unanimously. 

Paul Estefan nominated Fourth Ward candidates, John Esposito and Thomas Saadi.  Fellow Fourth Ward members Tony Tomaino and Sally Estefan unanimously seconded the nominations.   

Eleanor Lewis nominated Fifth Ward candidates Duane Perkins and Fredrick Visconti, Jr.  Kate Conciatore seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously.

 Barbara Braguez nominated Sixth Ward candidates Benjamin Chianese and Paul Rotello.  Richard Kaback seconded.  The nominations passed unanimously. 

William Knight nominated Seventh Ward candidates Christine Halfar and Cortez White.  Glenda Armstrong seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Kevin Morgan nominated the seven candidates for Common Council at Large, Patricia Bowen, Manny Furtado, Theresa Lavelle, Warren Levy, John Gogliettino, William Melillo and Manual Bataguas.  Eleanor Lewis seconded.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Joe DaSilva Jr. nominated Brian Cotter for Treasurer of the City of Danbury; a motion was made by Joe DaSilva Jr. to close the nomination for Treasurer.  Paul Estefan seconded.  Richard Kaback seconded the nomination of Brian Cotter.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Tom Saadi nominated Lori Kaback for the office of Town Clerk of the City of Danbury.  A motion was made by Eleanor Lewis to close the nomination.  Richard Kaback seconded.  Chris Halfar seconded the nomination of Lori Kaback.  The nomination passed unanimously.

Ellen Cooke nominated Eileen Coladarci for the office of City Clerk of the City of Danbury.  A motion was made by Helena Abrantes to close the nomination.  Kate Conciatore seconded the nomination of Eileen Coladarci.  The nomination passed unanimously. 

Eileen Coladarci nominated Helena Abrantes for the office of Mayor of the City of Danbury.  Joe DaSilva Jr. made a motion to close the nomination.  The Secretary, Kate Conciatore, cast one vote.  Sheri Neptune seconded the nomination of Helena Abrantes.  The motion passed unanimously.

Barbara Braguez made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Ellen Cooke seconded.  The meeting was adjourned at 8: 45 P.M.
