Thomas J. Saadi
 tomsaadi@aol.com or call 203-797-1797

Tom has served on the Democratic Town Committee for more than ten years.  In that time he has worked to register new voters, encourage people to volunteer on campaigns and increased participation in neighborhood and community based activities and programs.

In addition to serving on the Town Committee, Tom also serves as a Councilman in the Fourth Ward and was elected by the Democratic Caucus as their Minority Leader. He has served as Chairman of many major Council Committees addressing issues ranging from municipal water safety, neighborhood blight, to the placement of heart defibrillators in public buildings. Tom also serves as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Connecticut.

A Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG), Tom has been a leader on addressing issues affecting Veterans, Service Members and their families. He led the successful effort to pass a Council Resolution supporting greater tax relief for veterans and then lobbied for passage of Public Act 03-44 allowing municipalities to provide greater property tax relief to veterans.

Tom has consistently opposed municipal tax giveaways to big corporate developers which burden residential tax payers with the bill for these corporate perks. Tom continues to push for greater funding for our Police and Fire Departments and for new laws to stop growing neighborhood nuisances.

Tom is active with many civic and social organizations in Danbury as well as with the Connecticut Bar Association and in 2003 he received the Connecticut Law Tribune’s "Impact Award" for his service to the Bar and the community at large.
